For this project I used a thermo electric generator to create an object, which is self-sufficient, functioning off the use of natural differences in temperatures. This project is a research contribution to a body of knowledge in sustainable energy. Using a TEG this object takes the outside temperature and the inside temperature of the terracota to create its energy. Inside the terracotta the water remains at a constant temperature of 12 degrees celsius, so when the outside temperature is warmer, the TEG produces its energy. This object can be produced locally and therefore the design can be changed to fit the aesthetic desires of various cultures. For example, it could be used in New York or in Mali as a easy-to-use device for charging your phone or lighting a reading area.
