Birth 01

For this project I used bread that had been thrown out from various markets in London. As the primary material, bread served as a mold to create objects for the dining table. Additionally, bread is the oldest edible constituent of our society and is therefore the ideal vehicle for exploring new methods of production. This project speaks to our relationship with waste and to our rituals with objects. To create each piece of the series of objects I used a different way of fabrication. Each of these techniques can be repeated to replicate the objects, with the only variations coming from the natural variations in the bread loafs.
